bummmer...

well, i had to send out an email to all the store patrons that scrapbook store's last day of business will be on September 28th. sucks. i'm sad, but i know it's been a real headache for my friend and i tried to help and love it as if it were my own (i wish i had the cash!), but she has to do what she has to do...her family comes first.

no more chicken e. runs, no more hanging out while it's not even open. no more key. i so have to remember to get an apron before i go. i work seven more days there. then that's it.

and, i don't know how much scrapbooking i'll do, other than our planned once a month at someone's home or at another store. i mean i am sooooo FREAKIN' BUSY! when the heck did that happen? notice the time. i've been up since 4:30 (owen is still not sleeping through the night??? and i haven't slept through the night either in over a year--didn't sleep too well when i was prego). but at least i can update my blog. got the store site and email stuff done, finally checked my email, did some receipt deductions...blah, blah.

michael has lost a second tooth. this happened about two days after the first one came out. he is doing well at school. his little friend whom he sits next to in class will be on his soccer team....please, please, please let there not be practice tomorrow! i have my whole day planned to the hour and if his coach calls to reschedule i'm so screwed!

owen is a terd, turd, however you spell that. he's standing up in his crib. he doesn't know what to do after that but...he is some stinky little boy...but oh, so very, very sweet! and his eyes are still very blue (not red, as in this pic):ok. i sent my mom a text the other day. but i'm not sure she's the one who received it? does that make sense? she got a new cell phone and i didn't save her number except to my head. so i sent her the text and the next day i got one back saying "who is this". now, it most likely isn't her b/c i don't see my mom typing and sending a text. not that she couldn't, she'd just be too scared. so i sent one back saying that it's her daughter. then i got one back stating "i don't have any kids." so my question is to you, momma, did you get this text and are you just trying to be safe? b/c it's meeee, you silly goose! oh, and i really need to update your email in my contacts too, btw.

yummy ring pops:

yeah, i'm terrible...this is my kid's after-school snack. but today was special, i guess.

and then all my boys were on the couch (and the gomes was on the floor trying to scratch his butt on mike's foot):

ew, mike...don't use michael's old booby pillow again until i wash it, ok?

UnPubbed *Corey Wagner*

here's my take on a very cute lo by Corey Wagner, this week's famer at Unpubbed.

"Today you were silly again"...how fitting for a page about Michael:

Creative with Donna

that sounds weird...but anyway, i took a class at the scrapbook store in colleyville this morning. my first truly official scrapbook class. (i'm not counting the one at GASC where they over-booked the Rusty Pickle class).

It was just too much fun and must keeps tabs on Donna Downey because as soon as she comes back to texas, i'll be at her class. reading her blog the last few days before the class, she is no different than those words. sweet, funny, and very inspiring...to be "perfect just the way you create." and all the ladies at the scrapbook pad were just awesome!

i'll post my project when i complete it...hopefully that will be very soon. i'm still itching with creativity from this morning. for now, here are our mugs:
Thanks, Donna!

and a little of this afterwards made for a perfect saturday morning:

howdy tuesday...

michael took this picture of owen yesterday in the car:

he's quite the little photographer.

he keeps asking me when his birthday going to start. he wants an Underdog theme this year.

not much going on today. have to pick up pictures of the dog that attacked gomey. he was on our property again a few days ago and mike got some pictures of him. the owners came to pick him up. i wish mike had snapped a few of the owners, but he didn't get them. also, today i'm digging through some old papers trying to collect stuff for my class on saturday with donna downey. i can't wait! she's coming to a store in colleyville, so i signed up for the class. she's a big scrapbooking celebrity and i'll get to have my picture taken with her! yippee!

anyway, made some more of those awesome wal-mart cookies last night. they're almost all gone. we're all big fans of them around here, so they don't last very long.

so cute...

Michael finally got a pair of crocs yesterday. and he got the charms to go on them as well. he chose a lightning bolt (bc it looked like lightning mcqueen's) and a pirate flag with a skull and cross-bones. when he got home, he went outside to splash in the puddles. then he came back in and wanted to wash them. i told him to just go rinse them off in the tub. he came out about five minutes later with a wet shirt and soaking wet shorts...i asked what happened. he said, "it's a long painful story and i really don't want to talk about it." too funny. he wants to get more charms to put on them. "like six more, mom. ok?" we'll see. those things are not cheap.

bought owen a walker this morning. i like to hit target right when it opens, so that's what we did this morning. have to head to the store today to print out some more invites. they were all already done, but the customer had something to add to them, so i have to re-do them all! whatever.

anyway, i have another video of michael singing. i will post it as soon as i can figure out how to just take a few bits of the video. it is quite amusing. gomey is in it as well.

i've been back at creating. we put togther a summer page kit class for the store. so i went ahead and made the example layouts...here'a taste:

24 July 2007

howdy tuesday...

been a while, but life seems have been happening while i've been away. mike had his subbuteo tourney this past weekend in st. louis. he came back with some t-shirts, a cool new cap that i'm going to steal and some more little plastic me. he had a good time.

anyway, this is what's happening right now:

gome-a-lux asleep in the closet, owen asleep in his bouncy, michael asleep in his bed. nice. and quiet.
gomey is still wearing the lamp shade. his stitches are out. but while they were in, he didn't get to get a bath and the fleas got really bad. when he got the stitches out, he went crazy and almost scratched his ear off. so i had to put another lamp shade back on until the Frontline takes effect.

i really am having scrapbooking/creating withdrawals. just been really busy. i stayed up all night friday night working on the store website. i had to install a new forum (old one littered with spam--what a bunch of losers who set up those bots). anyway, it's nice and new and i hope to keep it fairly spam free. and the new program allows me to delete more than one user at a time, too, in case i have to do a big clean up.

but see it all and tell me what you think: scrap 2 It! i'll warn you in advance if you still have dial-up...good luck with that.

that's about all for tuesday. i tried to make it talk to momma tuesday, but i'm guessing she went to her exercise class this morning...and i left a 'brief' message on her answering machine. :)

later kids!

19 July 2007

they suck, but...

i finished 27 pages the other night to stick in my scrapbook. the pictures are down on the paper and the story is written. and i'm finally almost done with 2005.

the gomes is recovering nicely. he has fleas bad though and the stuff is not working because his bath was too long ago i guess. poor thing. he gets his stitches out on saturday.

this is the side where he had his tube. i can't believe he let them take it out without knocking him out first. his left shoulder looks similar to this one. poor guy. and that green tape on his leg we were supposed to take off last wednesday. but you know how that goes. we can't even get near it.

anyway, he's doing ok. a little itchy and annoyed by the lamp shade. but he's getting around quite well, considering.

mike and his mom and dad took the kids to the peach festival on the 14th. michael had his face painted:

he looks so strange. like his face is really short. he was so excited though. and dad bought him a gun. not really. kind of like the ewok sling-shot except that it fires ping-pong balls. it's carved out of wood. it's pretty cool. it stays at grandma's house though, so he can use it in the back yard. i would have kept it here for dog walking but the ping-pong balls probably wouldn't do as much damage as the big metal pipe i've been carrying around these days.

not much going on today. hoping to have one of michael's friends come over to play and swim. just cleaning the house...a good cleaning. haven't done that in a while. includes scrubbing the lint and gunk off the baseboards using a toothbrush. i tried just wiping them but the paint is prickly so you can't get in there without some spray cleaner and a brush. but they sure do look pretty! and, if you go room to room, there really aren't that many of them. michael thought i was weird and got mad because i used his old toothbrush!

that's about all for today. maybe i'll do some creating this weekend. feeling a little better than i was last week, so, maybe!

02 June 2007

finally got some work done...

at the store today! i was there all day and defrosted the mini fridge (it was crazy frozen and yucky), filled in the chalkboard wall calendar, helped customers, showed invites, and created! here's what i made for the store today:

these were so much fun to make! i wish that i had larger pics of Owen...the pic on the far left is actually facing the wrong way. oh well. still looks cute, i think!

so much for watching '24' online...it will have to wait until i get back from my momma's. poor mike. i hope, though, that he doesn't watch Heroes without me! i got kind of hooked on that and now i'm leaving.
i almost died the other day (of embarrassment). you can ask anyone i know how frustrated i am about the illegal immigrant situation. so, needless to say, i have a few choice phrases i like to use (no cursing, just some things i comment on often) mostly while i'm driving. so...thursday morning, michael, owen and i were at the drive thru getting my daily Chicken Express diet coke and we get up to the window and Michael says (very loudly), "It sure is nice to have someone at the window who speaks English for a change!" i didn't know what to say. i mean he was right and all...but he's 5! and it's not like if it was someone who couldn't speak well would understand anyway, right?

we had a super yummy meal last night for mike's mom's bday. we went to his family's restaurant El Fenix. i ended up not even ordering any food because we ordered three plates of nachos for appetizers and there were enough left for me to have as a meal. and then we had the best chocolate cake i've had in a very long time from this bakery in ft. worth. it was awesome. anyway, on the drive to the restaurant (which was very speedy--mike's dad drove like 80 on the interstate) michael was making owen laugh:

that's about all. i have a lot of packing to do these next few days and we are supposed to go to mike's aunt's lake house tomorrow and take the boat out. i hope i at least get to ride on the thing. i'd hate to sit out there at the lake all day doing nothing while i could be home packing. but, whatever.

30 May 2007

blah, blah

not much going on today. just went to work, found there was only a pile of twenties in the drawer, sat in the bank line far too long for having only one other person in line, went back to work, owen crabbed, made a display page, argued with the credit card machine people, unpacked a few new goodies (including the new CK), ate lunch with pickle, looked through a magazine and picked out some ideas, made a sign, sucked up a bunch of ants dining on a frito...you know, typical wednesday stuff.

came home and saw delaney (not sure on how she spells it) walking by our window looking for michael. he was busy and she was already on her way back home. watched michael build like 800 megazords and 300 eight-gun blasters (don't know what those are) out of legos. sent michael outside with his soccer ball and delaney popped over to play.

fed our fish...why we have fish i don't know. mike brought them back from his mom's after he helped them unpack the camper and boat (on Monday)...they were bait and now they're on my kitchen counter in the dearly-departed triops' bowl. i fed them wheat thins. they're still alive. mike said they'd probably only last through the night...they're still alive. and you know me, i couldn't just let them die but was too cheap to go buy them fish food, thinking they wouldn't live for all that long, even with food...but they're still alive!
here's your dose of michael for wednesday:

blah...so without cable we have found ourselves searching for some summer tv entertainment. we picked up Heroes on the internet and watched the first two episodes tonight. can you say kind of gruesome? what's with the frozen dude missing the top of his head? anyway, good stuff. i was thinking we could catch up on the entire '4 days' (or however many seasons) of 24, but mike said fox doesn't put that one online to watch--at least not for free. i mean, if we wanted to pay we'd just get cable!

oh, i miss my 'Lost' and 'Smallville' peeps.

wanted to scrapbook tonight but i had to rub mike's feet all during Heroes so he would work on the store gallery for me. (luckily, shows are a lot shorter without all those commercials). i finally found the correct platform to use for the gallery but he'll have to manually install some scripts in the right place for it to work. hopefully, he'll feel up to it after work tomorrow and i'll have my gallery to work on over the weekend...ooh, that reminds me, i have to work on saturday.
