my boys...

splish splash...the two of them had such a blast in the tub! michael loved to watch owen play. he even let owen wipe suds on his face and splash all over him. too cute! michael really loves this little guy...

things are very busy. with the store closing, i don't have too many days left of work but i've taken on cooking dinner three nights a week for a friend. and still being at the store along with cooking takes a lot of planning. of course, i wouldn't have it any other way. i cannot not be busy. i mean, what would i do?

anyway, that's about all i have time for. soccer practice, make dinner, and clean up the huge mess i made trying to clean out stuff and clean up. that really doesn't make any sense...i hope to have something creative to show you the next time i post. that doesn't mean i'm not going to post for a very long time, it means i'm actually going to scrapbook tomorrow night! yipppppeeeeeee!!!!!

Sunday

Today was the first Sunday we've spent at home in a while. I made this for my baked ziti dinner tonight:

remember that song? Bill Murray dressed in that blue sparkly jacket singing on SNL? too funny. i wish i could remember the rest of the words. heck, maybe i'll check out YouTube.

anyway, Ft. Worth Science Museum (btw, their site sucks--can't find anything) must have some serious connections...they have the Star Wars Exhibit there until Sept. 3. so, of course, we went! not sure who enjoyed looking at the ships more, Michael or Mike. :)

it was cute though, to watch the two. and i had fun trying to get some good pictures with everyone walking by and everything in glass cases. they had the ride the hover-craft thing but Michael was too short (you need to eat, boy!)

ok...not home yet!

too much rain!!! our flight got cancelled and too much waiting on the phone to book a new flight pushed us all the way to a friday a.m. departure! so...i'm at my sister's house until friday. and it's still supposed to rain all through the weekend. wow!


so, we're just hanging out, eating popcorn, watching tennis (laura and jim are big tennis fans--they comment on tennis matches like mike would comment on a soccer or football game), snacking on stuff. and i really need to go home because i've been eating everything in sight. i guess i'm filling up on the stuff i can't get/prepare at home either because i can't find it or i'm the only one who'll eat it.
i found this picture on my sister's computer and i can't wait to get a print and hang it up. we're not sure where it was taken, but we're thinking it's from the local hilo, hi golf course in '93 or '94. but i love it!

Fun-Dip and three cousins...

and i'm glad to get back there but also very sad to leave as i don't know when i'll get back again. michael really, really misses his daddy (and so do I) and gomey too. michael "wants to get back to normal". i do wish that he'd go swimming though. his two cousins will spend the whole day there and he just doesn't want to go in the pool. he's really missing out. he wants to sit here on the couch and watch tv today. nice.

EMP and PPS

I've discovered that owen is an EMP (early morning pooper) and my sister is a PPS (Penoir Poppin' Sleeper).

and we haven't taken a picture of all the family yet and joanie has to leave this morning so we'll all be lookin' pretty rough this morning for our family portrait. but who cares?

michael is having a rough time. he misses his dad. he's trying to have fun with his cousins, but yesterday was rough because he didn't want to swim and everyone else was. he was 'too cold'. i told him that he needed to eat some more for some insulation. he's so darn skinny! but when we got home, the boys went in the hot tub and then they went out back and made some s'mores. i asked michael to ask his uncle jim to set up the telescope. but jim said no because it was so cloudy. michael got pretty upset and i told him that he wouldn't see anything anyway because it was so cloudy. then michael said, "but we could look at the houses." peeping tom. i told him that we couldn't do that. :)

i've been waiting for this...

and soon we'll have one of mom and all the kids...together...finally! with dad looking down from above.

i'm here and one little word post

i'm in nc visiting my family! hooray! went to my niece's graduation yesterday. i can't believe that she's already done with hs. i was only 14 when she was born...yikes!

anyway, we are having fun and michael is enjoying the punching bag upstairs, listening to his headphones...can't get him to swim though. but we'll work on that. still waiting on london broil and spaghetti sauce though.

oh, bum!

so, i should be on a plane right now but...i called just after leaving the house to find out my gate info and MY FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED!!!! they said because of the weather...(???) ummm, it's sunny here and there. anway, can you say, "%$#@!#%@#%!" anyway, i can't get another flight out until 4pm! and i've been up since 5:30 getting everybody ready. what a pain in the butt.


well, maybe i just wasn't meant to get on that particular flight. we went out for breakfast since there is absolutely no food in the house. mike said not to bother getting anything (because he will be at his mom's the 3 weeks that i'm gone). soo....to kill some time we acted silly behind the store and took a bunch of pictures and michael played with a fire ant bed--well, he threw rocks at it until i yelled at him. how can i yell at this face?



and now i'm here blogging. trying to find a picture to post. maybe michael and his 12-gun blaster. he makes these out of legos and adds different 'sticky-outy things' to make up each blaster. this one has 12 on it, i think. and, i was in the bedroom and he was out playing on the table. he told me to come out and look. he had built the word 'LEGO' out of legos. what a clever little child.

howdy tuesday...

took owen to the doc this morning. four shots and one weird rotavirus drink thing...that he got maybe .001 mils of . anyway, he weighs 15 pounds, 7 oz. and is 26". michael was supposed to get his blood drawn (?) and they couldn't do it because they said they have never seen veins so little on a 5 year old before. they said i'll have to take him to the lab where they'll have smaller needles. so...



our weekend went well, if you subtract the 10 inches of rain that fell on us (and it's still raining!) we had about 12 hours total of sun from friday to monday. i got up on skis for about two seconds then didn't really get to try again because sunday, when it was sunny the entire day, i had to sit at the camp while everyone else who didn't actually camp and brave the weather hogged the boat all day. and michael, mike, and i didn't get to go out until later that evening. but we went out on the tube...bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy...fun! my neck hurt though afterwards...but michael had so much fun. and i cracked up watching his face from the boat when he went on the tube with mike. too cute.

i can't believe all my posts are gone...all those cool comments from all those cool ladies whom i barely know...very cool. and all those awesome pictures i had up. i'll get started again with a few from our weekend.
